PUPPY DAY.... finally!

So, it's finally puppy pick-up day. After waiting for 5 weeks, I somehow thought I'd be more excited than I am. Maybe the fact that I just worked all night has something to do with it. Hopefully I get a little more excited when I actually see him in person..... Well, it's off to the shower... more later...

I finally got emailed a new picture of my soon to be, very own pug puppy...

Eight more days until I pick up my pug! I can't wait, as if it wasn't obvious. Here's another picture that I took on the day we went to pick him out. He's so small that he fit completely in his new daddy's hands.

Be Prepared

Last night I found out that my friend Eileen's daughter got a mini dachshund for her 14th birthday from her grandmother. I got to hold the little girl, named Telly, and it really made me wish i could go and pick up my puppy today! But, alas he is only 7 weeks old and it is much too soon to take him away from his mommy and siblings.

So I was telling the hubby about this and he said not to worry, that in 2 weeks I would get to have the new love of my life. I asked him in a fun way, what that was supposed to mean. He said that it was pretty obvious since it was all I talked about and when I buy his food a month in advance, it was pretty much unmistakable. I told him, that getting a puppy almost like having a baby, you can never be prepared to early! And of course I pointed out the fact that I still have a few things left to buy that I was leaving until the end. Of course he thought this was funny, as the whole conversation was pretty light hearted. He just enjoys picking on me! :)

Waiting!!!

I'm still waiting... as always. This puppy thing seems to be nothing but a waiting game, but I guess that I'll have to put up with it for a little bit longer in order to realize my dream of owning a pug.

Relief

I emailed Gayle, the pug breeder, today just to check in, see how things were going and all. I also was checking to see if the deposit I sent on 3/28, to her daughter, who was originally going to sell me one of the puppies from her dogs litter, had arrived yet. I also sent another $200 to Gayle herself as a sign of good faith just in case the original deposit was somehow lost in the mail. Luckily both of the checks got to their destinations on the same day, which says something really bad about our postal system. I mailed one on 3/28, the other on 4/4, and they both get to the same city on the same day????!!!!???? That's all I'll say about that !

Hatin' the USPS!!!

I'm totally hating the United States Postal Service right now.... I mailed an important letter last Saturday. It had to physically go about 75 miles to get to it's destination, and it's still not there. Unless I messed up on the address, which there is only about a 1% chance of that, then the letter is lost in mail limbo!!! What am I going to do you ask! I guess all I can do is wait some more.....
